SHANGHAI, China, August 26 — SanDisk Semiconductor (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (SDSS) celebrated its 20th anniversary in Shanghai, bringing together executives from SDSS, JCET Group and Sandisk Corporation, along with hundreds of employees. The event reflected on SDSS's development over the past two decades and looked ahead to new opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Founded in August 2006, SDSS has grown into one of the world's major manufacturing bases for flash memory products. Its continued progress in automation, digitalization and sustainable manufacturing has earned recognition from the World Economic Forum as both an End-to-End Lighthouse and a Sustainability Lighthouse. In September 2024, JCET Group completed its acquisition of an 80% equity interest in SDSS.
SDSS's expertise in advanced NAND flash manufacturing, high-volume delivery and customer service complements JCET's capabilities in DRAM and flash packaging and testing, as well as SiP, supporting JCET's evolution toward a more integrated storage platform spanning chip packaging and testing, system integration and module manufacturing. As a dual Lighthouse factory, SDSS also offers a valuable reference for advancing automation, digital operations, AI adoption and green manufacturing across JCET's global operations.

To address rising storage demand driven by AI and data centers, JCET is combining its systematic capabilities in SiP, multi-chip integration, SMT, testing, reliability verification and failure analysis with SDSS's strengths in flash manufacturing, automated operations and high-volume delivery to accelerate its build-out of enterprise SSD (eSSD) technologies and manufacturing capacity.
Dato’ KL Bock, Board Director of SDSS, said: “SDSS’s achievements reflect the professionalism, innovation and dedication of generations of employees. Over the past 20 years, we have strengthened our manufacturing, quality and operational capabilities while advancing customer service, technology and sustainability. As we begin our next chapter, we will deepen collaboration with customers, industry partners and shareholders to build more efficient, agile and sustainable manufacturing operations and capture new opportunities in the storage industry.”
Dr. Rebecca Chen, Vice President of JCET and Board Director of SDSS, said: "Sandisk Semiconductor Shanghai’s 20-year journey is a testament to sustained innovation, engineering excellence and customer commitment. Since joining JCET, the two companies have deepened their integration across technology, manufacturing and operations. As AI reshapes computing, storage and connectivity, industrial innovation increasingly depends on systematic synergy among technology, manufacturing and applications. JCET will continue to leverage the strengths of its global R&D, manufacturing and customer service network, further expanding cooperation with Sandisk in memory manufacturing, advanced packaging and product applications to seize the broad opportunities of the AI era."
